We are the public advocate for the Indian Creek and greater Youghiogheny River watersheds. We work for the water and for you.
Quality of life in the Laurel Highlands region depends on the Youghiogheny River and tributaries like Indian Creek. Our streams are a source of recreation, tourism, sustainable economic growth, and drinking water. As citizens, it is our duty to protect these resources. Join us as we work to protect, preserve and restore the Indian Creek and greater Youghiogheny River watersheds.
We hold polluters and environmental regulators accountable to ensure protection of our communities and the environment. Threats from coal mining, shale gas development, and other issues jeopardize conservation and restoration efforts and water quality. We conduct patrols, pursue increased stream protections and unsuitable for mining designations for sensitive areas, and use state and federal laws to ensure communities and our waters are protected. We investigate citizen complaints.
